ATC Logistics & Electronics Recognized as ‘Green 50’ Company by Inbound Logistics Magazine

List ranks innovative companies with environmentally sustainable practices

FORT WORTH, Texas, July 6, 2010 -- ATC Logistics & Electronics (ATCLE), a subsidiary of ATC Technology Corporation (ATC) (NASDAQ:ATAC) has been named to the "50 Green Supply Chain Partners (G50)" list by Inbound Logistics magazine. Editors selected a variety of logistics service providers including considered to be "truly dedicated to supply chain sustainability." The complete list will appear in the special "Supply Chain Sustainability" issue of the publication in June.

"We are grateful to the editors of Inbound Logistics for recognizing the efforts of the ATCLE team and our commitment to environmental responsibility," said Anthony Francis, president of ATCLE. "Being green is inherent to our entire operation. We’ve dedicated significant investment and resources towards sustainable practices.. While clients benefit from our comprehensive reverse logistics, asset recovery and test & repair services, the real winner is the environment. At every level of the organization, we will continue to seek new ways for our company and customers to mitigate negative impacts on the environment."

Internally, ATCLE has reduced energy consumption, waste output and emissions by 10 percent from 2007 to 2008. The company’s carbon footprint was diminished by retrofitting more than 400 lamps with energy efficient units, and organizing an employee vanpool that decreased emissions as well as traffic congestion. In addition, ATCLE recycles 4,000 tons of paper and plastic annually, and regularly collaborates with vendors, and suppliers, to encourage green operations.

Externally, ATCLE has helped customers through innovative asset recovery programs that promote refurbishment and recycling of consumer electronics including wireless phones, global positioning systems (GPS) and DSL modems. The company manages returns processes, conducting test & repair services to evaluate the functionality of devices and refurbishes them whenever possible. ATCLE’s battery reclamation program alone has prevented about 200,000 batteries from disposal, saving clients approximately $1.5 million in new materials cost. Finally, ATCLE coordinates recycling operations to avoid waste and recoup expenses reclaiming more than 95 percent of materials previously destined for landfills.
